Airplanes
- Both sides realized that ariel warfare had great potential.
- However there wasn't good enough technology at the time.
- It wasn't very influential to the fighting.
- The planes were first only used for scouting.
- The relations between opposing pilots were initially quite friendly.
- The pilots would attempt to shoot each other with revolvers once the conflict was in full swing, and grudges were strong.
- However later the synchronizer would be developed, allowing machine guns to shoot through propellors.
- This would lead to "dogfights" in the sky.
- Planes were also used for bombing.
Zeppelins
- Zeppelins were also used in the war for bombing, but due to being very large targets and highly flammable, they could only do so during the night.
- This was because zeppelins were filled with hydrogen, instead of the far safer yet more expensive helium.
- Smaller zeppelins were used for scouting.

- Zeppelins would be used as luxury transport for some time, however the infamous Hindenburg Disaster which led to the deaths of 35 people in 1937 would end the zeppelins career.
