CHARACTERISTICS
- My main strengths in writing is my ability to relatively quickly create comprehensive sentences and texts. I am quite quick both in typing and writing and I have a decently large vocabulary (although it could always be improved!).
- I am relatively good at interpreting texts and detecting stylistic devices and the like, which is quite useful in essays. Although interpreting texts and getting a plan of an essay can take me awhile, it's quiet quick to write down.
- I'm quite good at making presentations and I can put one together relatively quickly. I'm quite good at finding information sources and organizing things properly. Sometimes I can put a bit too much information, although recently I've been trying to summarize more.
- I'll usually try to add additional information and comments as I present although sometimes
my presentation might be a bit dull.
- In team work I am generally quite cooperative and willing to work with the ideas of others. I usually have my own specific vision for how I'd like to do something, but I can incorporate the ideas of others or adapt my vision to fit what the team wants.
- I can also take on a large amount of the workload in a team, which is quite useful if other team members are busy and cannot work. I won't go out of my way to do other's work, however.
SKILLS
- For my skills I need to improve on my thought process and planning so that I can quicker prepare essays during exams. Streamlining my planning and noting are probably the main things I need to work on to achieve this. As the exams are written on paper, going back to edit something or change formatting is much more difficult.
- I work on my vocabulary to add more flavor to my writing. As although I feel like I already have a good grasp of the English language, my writing comes out as emotionless and sometimes repetitive. I would also like to work on my authorial skills, which will become especially useful when writing creative works.
- Working on my speaking skills, allowing me to talk with less pauses and better vocabulary is also something I am aiming to do.
- I have mainly built writing and vocabulary skills. I am quite competent in understanding and writing in English, although there's always room for improvement.
- Over the school years I've also gained skills for general organization and information storage, such as taking lots of notes during class, giving me plenty of material to use for revisions later.
THREATS
- Some of the blockers I'm facing is having to balance everything I have to do, as I have to study a lot for lessons such as Math and Physics and I also spend time going to hobbies. Lately I've been feeling like I have less and less free time, as I spend a lot of it working and studying. I've been trying to streamline my process and prevent procrastination as much as possible.
- Some factors outside of my control would be getting sick or events I have to attend that would otherwise impact my learning.
OPPORTUNITIES
- My goals are to get good grades from subjects and in general learn new things. I want to apply to university after my studies, likely the TUE. Getting to know others and having a good time is also something I'd like to accomplish, and so far I feel as if I have.
- I want to work on my time-management skills and essay writing skills. Being able to work with full concentration will allow me to work much faster. Additionally I sometimes find it hard to do something I'm not motivated to do. Therefore, I would like to work on pushing myself to get things done.
- Organizing my schedule and tasks and getting rid of possible distractions can help me with time management. I can improve my other skills through rigorous and continuous practice.
