What is the Political Speech Structure?
- The political speech structure is very similar to the criminal plea structure, but has some additions and some deletions.
Structure
- Introduction
- Background information
- Proposition
- Outline of arguments
- Evidence for arguments
- Counter arguments
- Digression
- Pathos
Features
- No narrative, but instead the audience is expected to have information on the issue. Some background information is provided by the speaker, such as through anecdotes.
- Judicial arguments are replaced for a political argument in the proposition.
- Pathos might have a focus on fear.
